Postling is awesome. I’m getting comments left on my Wordpress blog, multiple twitter accounts, and Flickr photos all in one place.
I wish we could also pull in Tumblr likes and reblogs, but alas, Tumblr doesn’t make that available to us.

A friend of mine asked me last week to help her build a pitch deck. Her company isn’t launched yet, and the purpose of the deck is mainly to convey her idea and vision for the company (more than ask for money).
Here’s the outline I suggested to her (comments specific to her business have been scrubbed):
Slide 1: Logo, Tagline, CEO name and contact info
Slide 2: Present the problem.
Slide 3: Present the solution (in concept, not detail) – sell the dream!
Slide 4: Present how you want to implement the solution – still keep it high level (marketplace for [redacted])
Slide 5: Present the business model
Slide 6: What about you or your solution makes you special? Example answers: first-mover, special team, special connections, etc
Slide 6: Market size
Slide 7: Marketing strategy – How will people know you exist? Marketplaces require simultaneous build up of supply and demand. How will you accomplish this?
Slide 8: Competition
Optional Slide: Funding needs, how you would spend the money, milestones
Slide 9: Team – focus on what unique skills each team member has.
Slide 10: Repeat Slide 1
What do you think is missing?

I’ll have a full blog post later today, but this is exactly why we decided to switch from offering the first 30 days free (with paid account) to a free 30 day trial.

That’s what happens when I get confronted with UI that just absolutely confuses me.
I’m trying out Streamy because someone got confused and thought it might be similar to Postling. Streamy suffers from TOO MUCH. It’s a twitter client and a facebook client and an RSS reader and an IM client and a chat client and a digg / flickr / bunch of other stuff client. TOO MUCH.
There is this other feature where you can drag news stories (see photo). But what happens when you start to drag? These unlabelled buttons pop up, and when you mouse over one of them, the other two disappear and a bunch more pop up. AHHHHHHHHH!!!

I made the bottom tweet yesterday. A network of spambots picked it up and have been repeating my tweet from different accounts at different intervals. It’s still going – 14 tweets from 14 different accounts! Just awful… if spambots can pass the Turing test, Twitter has big problems on their hands.
